"Life By The Spirit"

What is living by the Spirit? Is it you doing your best to live a holy life by going to church, being a kind person, and trying not to sin? The answer is no. Many of us try and fight the war of sin all by ourselves, that is why you are still in your sin.

NIV(Ecc.8:8) No man has power over the wind to contain it; so no one has power over the day of his death. As no one is discharged in time of war,(so wickedness will not release those who practice it.)

NKJV(Ecc.8:8) No one has power over the spirit to retain the spirit, And no one has power in the day of death. There is no release from that war, (And wickedness will not deliver those who are given to it.)

Notice the word wind in the NIV is translated spirit in the NKJV. The Greek term for spirit is pneuma/(new-ma) it is defined as a current of air, i.e. breath. This does not mean Holy Spirit in this sense it means our spirit. Since the word Spirit is paralleled by the "day of death," the term spirit in this context means "life force". We are sinful creatures so even our own spirit is defiled. Our spirit consists of three elements: mind, will, and emotion. The hardest thing to control is not your tongue but your mind, because it is always going. The mind is where sin is first conceived. If a sinful thought is conceived in your mind and you begin to feed into it and focus in on it......then you will more than likely give in to the sin.(Read James 1:14-15). Our will is natural and Gods will is Divine, and since our will is natural it is sinful. We must conform our will,plans,and desires to that of Jesus Christ. God has made us in His likeness:bodies,emotions,and intuition. God has full control of His emotions, we don't. We must submit or spirits over to the power of the Holy Spirit. The only way to fully submit is to trust in God and NOT LEAVE ANY ROOM FOR DOUBT, BUT BELIEVE THE WORD FOR WHAT IT SAYS......AND NOT TAKE IT FOR GRANTED. You must walk by the Spirit.


What you feed into most is what you become, whether good or evil. Another saying is this: Who you hang around is who you become. We are surrounded by influence and influence is what makes us who we are. I was born into a family that speaks English therefore I speak English. My friends were skateboarders and so was I so picked up their lingo/slang......"It's OK bro, to know who you are dude hahahah." God and His Holy Word influences and inspires us to live right, His Word is alive Heb. 4:12.
Jesus stated Himself: "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. "And you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free."(Jn.8:31) Also the spirit speaks through Paul and says: "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, That the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." We must continue to feed ourselves! If we don't then we are just giving the devil a foot hold. We must feed ourselves to be transformed. The seed has been planted, it must be watered, and God will give the increase.


NIV(Rom.12:2) Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is- His good, pleasing and perfect will.


The Bible teaches us how to develop and obtain the same mind and attitude as that of Jesus Christ.NKJV(1Pet.1:16) "Be holy, for I am holy."

NIV(1Cor.2:16) "For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?
But we have the mind of Christ."
NIV(Phil.4:8) Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things.
NIV(Phil.2:5) Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus.
NKJV(Phil.2:5) Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.


NKJV(Rom.8:5-6) For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.


NIV(Gal.5:16-18) So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will no gratify the desires of the sinful nature. For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.

Do not think that just because you are led by the Spirit that you will not be tempted. If you are led by the Spirit then be expected to eventually run into temptation......take Jesus for example Mt.4:1-11. Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted. In all points He was tempted just as we are, yet without sin.(Heb.4:15). Now don't get this twisted, I'm not saying that the Spirit uses evil. (James 1:13) Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God can not be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone."
God (allows)/(permits) bad to happen that good may come out of it. God tests you, He dose not tempt. The reason He tests is for His glory and your benefit.

NKJV (1Cor.10:13) No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God who is faithful, who will not (allow) you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with that temptation will also make the way of escape, (that you may be able to bear it.

My conclusion is this.........
Feed your self, be hungry for the Lord, for His sake and not yours
